Who's who? Committee Role(s)

Background

Chairman -
Derrick Holden
Derrick’s lifelong interest in motors and motor sport led to his taking an apprenticeship on leaving school with the local Vauxhall dealers. During this time he was voted top national apprentice of the year and was one of the first two men to pass both the Association of Motor Industries and Institute of Road Transport Engineers’ final exam in the same year. After  progressing to Service Manager and a spell as an HGV driver, he put his considerable and wide ranging knowledge to use in training others, and now is contracted to teach R.E.M.E. (Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers or as Derrick himself puts it –Rough Engineering Made Easy), specialising both in transmissions and the latest all singing all dancing M.A.N. truck. His motor sport experience includes training as a scrutineer and preparing motor bikes for the race track. Derrick was elected Chairman of the Group in 2006

Treasurer -
Pauline Jordan
Pauline says "At the age of 50 I have never been or wanted to be on a motor bike, and then my husband goes and gets one (mid life crisis) so it was a case of close my eyes and try it or become a motor bike widow. So I gave it a try and before you know I am pillion riding on the monthly ride outs and getting involved on the committee as the treasurer. I have now opened a new business (Bar & Cafe) so can't take part in the ride outs but I will continue to do my best as the treasurer". We wish her well in both of these endeavours.
Secretary -
Alan Wakeman
Alan Wakeman is the group Secretary and he joined the committee at the 2009 AGM. Please contact him in the first instance for any general enquiries about the group and its activities.

Alan has a long background in CSMA motorsport, having competed on the Curtis Bennet for many years and driven for Frizzell Rally Team CSMA on Rally GB in 1995 where he let Colin McRae win to clinch the World Rally Championship ! His name has also appeared on many occasions on the WMX golf trophy. Alan is active on 12 cars and autotests, but his children are now appearing on the scene - Oli being quick in a car and a kart, Owen acting as an accomplished navigator, and Miranda giggling at anything !

Vice Chairman & Motorcycle Co-ordinator -
Allan Goddard
Allan (or AG as he is often known) is a past Chairman of the group and is also the csma's Captain and North London Centre President. Over a forty-four year involvement with csma and 37 years on the WMx Group Committee, he has done (& is still doing!) almost everything on two & four wheels. Be it Social or Competitive, at International level and Club/Grass roots, as a participant or an organiser, he's had a go, and got a wardrobe full of tee-shirts !
Simon Mummery Simon was voted onto the committee at the 2009 AGM and was re-elected in 2010.
Sump Editor -
Dave Wiles
After 7 highly successful years in the editors chair Jez has handed over the editorship to Dave Wiles. Dave, as some of you will remember was the previous editor and we welcome him back to the role and a seat in the 2010 WMx committee.
Webmaster -
Malcolm Grubb
Malcolm is no longer a committee member, but has agreed to continue in the role of webmaster. He has been competing in all forms of motorsport since 1969. He has won awards for Road, Stage and Endurance rallies, Autotests, Autosolos plus the csma motorist of the year and the BBC Driver of the year competition, he is also a full member of the IAM. Although not contesting any specific  championships as such he still competes on Road Rallies, Enduro Rallies, Autotests, Autosolos and motorcycle ride-outs as well as organising and marshalling.
